Will the Capillus cap assist with hair thinning which is a result of stress?

Capillus is FDA-cleared to help with hereditary hair loss due to androgenetic alopecia (male & female pattern balding). It’s not cleared for other types of hair loss such as stress-induced hair loss (telogen effluvium).

However, there are many misconceptions about what causes hair loss and unless the hair loss that you attribute to stress has been sudden, it is likely caused by a combination of age and genetics. Female pattern baldness, or androgenetic alopecia, is the most common cause of hair loss in women. Capillus uses low-level laser therapy to treat this type of hair loss and thinning. You can read more about this condition on our website.

Please keep in mind there still needs to be hair to treat – if no vellus hairs exist, nothing will help. You might also be interested in this FAQ, What’s the difference between hormonal or stress hair loss and genetic hair loss?
